Late day rally but this hurricane is what everyone is focusing on. The oil rig devastation and the port of orlean impact is on everyone's mind. However, today I shorted more of the tso , vlo, and open a new short on tso. I just do not understand why these refineries are continued to move upward even after the spr has been open. Will have to see what happens to either dispose at a lost tomorrow. But, then all this hype and fast upward move could reverse.

Very bearish today due to the oil run up. But, I think this will fade once the inventory and more news on the rigs and refinery conditions become clear. Also, if the situation is very gloom, Georgie may tap the SPR. With this reasoning I shorted a small bit of sun at 68.65 and vlo at 96.51. Will short more if it rallies further. These oils stocks are getting very over value due to small amount of news here and there. Also, double down on sbux because there is speculation that their coffees are stored in New Orleans and may hamper deliver. Just speculation and why would starbuck put all their eggs in one basket. Tomorrow, will continue to monitor the oil inventory and gdp number, which is all old news because the hurricane changes everything.

A decent rally today , however, on not that spectacular volume. Added more shares to my vrsn ( cost 22.45), it looks like it has bottom. Kind of watch the news all day on the hurricane and the impact of oil on everyone. Thinking the oil inventory condition is ok and their will be a selloff on oils either tomorrow pr maybe wednesday after the inventory number. Do not think the hurricane had too much impact on the oil refineries and exploration. A 1 or 2 day delay, but everything should be up and running, just over speculation and hype. So it should be a good short on the refineries tso and vlo.
Will see how it pans out before placing the position.

Another lack luster day, even though the oil price sold off at the end the index failed to rally. Also, Mr. Green egg and Ham's words didn't help the market at all. Today, long on tol at 47.49, a very volatile play because it has a high p/e among its peers, but the reason I played it because of the high short volume about 19% of the float. Anything can spooked these shorts and up it will go. That is all I did today, but not a good week for me overall. Next week should be exciting , with month end, gdp, consumer confidence and job number on friday should move this market.

A decent day, with heavy volume . But, this market continues to trade without any catalyst. The oil monster continues to scare the bulls and prevent it from a rally. Today, watched tol, wanted to buy it under 48 but it was never reached. Also, watched rimm for a short if it moved above 80. Tomorrow the same as today, will watch tol the homebuilders with rimm on the side.

Well was right on the new home numbers, but was wrong on how the oil monster will spooked the market. I thought the high oil price was on the market's past, well today it hit another high and scared everyone. Daytraded tol for a +0.80/share, the market moved toward my stop limit number and took me out. Need to work on my stop limit number because it exactly hit my number and then proceeded up 55 cent. Sold my cbh for +2.50/share, this stock may go up higher but took profit because it has gone below my price target. My vrsn and sbux is coming down due to no news, I think the high oil price is affecting it. Tomorrow will watch the home builders again for a day trade. Maybe even look at rimm as a short for a dollar.

Well today the existing house numbers brought out the bears. But, tomorrow's new home sale and durable number should scare away the bears. The new homes are going up like mushrooms after a rain in my neighborhood. Also, noticed how the home builders came back after the mid day, there are buyers out there. Will watch tomorrow for a reentry. Watched rimm seesaw its way back, very impressive. However, will short it if it goes above 80. Went long on car max at 31.90, great guidance just can't resist. A bit puzzle on why my vrsn dropped near the end of day . No news to be found, if it heads toward 20 I'll double down.

This market is starting to level off and is waiting for a catalyst to move it further. Just watching it today even though the oil is above 65, this market is all out of sellers. However, the buyers are no where to be found either. So with this thought, I covered all my shorts: amzn for a +1/share and took a huge loss on mstr at -12.55/share. With the mstr monkey off my back I can concentrate on going forward. Today's action on rimm was unwarranted, thought the huge run up was associated with the ntp settlement, but it was with a deal with intc. Will watch the open for weakness and as a short position. Also, will watch shoe carnival since tomorrow they announce earning. I think it will be ok and it should pop for a dollar. Besides these two stocks, will watch the oil refineries (vlo and tso) and homebuilders (kbh, phm) for entry.

Another slow summer day with no movement. I'm glad I didn't made any trades this week, by doing this my portfolio actually gone up from last Friday. Well looking forward, earnings will definitely be even slower and the durable goods and Michigan sentiment reading should move the market. Should be ready next week to trade again and get back to my old routine.

A slow summer day with no movement. This market is just waiting for something to spark it, but what will it be? Nothing, I guess since earnings and summer is almost over. At least my mstr is starting to act correctly and everyone is waking up that this stock is not worth over 70.

Wow this market just want to go up no matter what kind of economic news is out there. I guess we will have to wait for more economic numbers later on the month to confirm how oil is affecting it. No trades again for me, just watched the market reacted to the oil inventory number. Also, since this Friday is option expiration it should be some what volatile.

Another slow day for myself. Didn't make any trades today, just slowly easing back into the game. Will probably trade next week. The market is starting to get spooked with this high oil price affecting the economy and cpi was higher than predicted. Tomorrow's ppi should either pushed it lower or lift it up a bit.

Finally back from a long holiday. Just watched my position went down the tube all day. Not ready to perform any trades yet, will need a few day to get back on the saddle. All I heard while on holiday was this high oil price and higher interest may slow down the economy. However, the economy continues to chug along. So what will be the next catalyst to move it further??

Haven't update for quite a few days, but sitting tight since I'm going on holiday next week. Hopefully, the market will turn into sloth mode while I'm out. Tomorrow's job number should be a non event. Closed out affx on Tues for +.75/share, this stock was acting too bullish for my shorts. Also sold rimm for +.25/share, this is one very volatile stock since it will move on any news regarding the NTP case. However, it will move to the mid 60's soon, because there are no longer any catalyst and more competition is coming every day.

Wow this market just keeps on chugging along with decent earnings and good economics numbers. However, what will be the next driver to boost it higher, maybe Friday's job number? As for me, watched mstr dived then recover, now I'm kicking myself for not taking care of this loser. Somehow, I 'm telling myself it will go to the lower 72 before it moves any further above 80. This stock is very over value since management doesn't give guidance anymore. Without guidance it will be a lost stock without any momentum to go any higher. Well this week should just be a slow closing up my position for next week's holiday. I haven't took a vacation since Dec 2003. Hopefully, the vacation will clear all this off negative vibe/emotions and let me make a good start when I come back. Don't be adding any position this week since I'll be gone, but if I do it will be a day trade.
