The market tried its finally push for the month, but overall Jan. was a negative month. Didn't execute any trades today. Watched chkp, this stock is hovering around the lower 24 area after great earnings, I believe it will break into 25 sometime this week if nothing negative impact the market. CCMP came down, finally the street is noticing the stock is dead. FOMC meets tomorrow, nothing expected by the street so nothing much. Friday is the job number and will see what happen.

Trade: none
Watch: issx ( good earnings, ok guidance, will see if it test 20, if it does buy it, if stock moves above the open price will short it)
Current Positions: insp +2.75/share
ccmp -0.33/share
aapl +14/share
cree -11/share
plmo -4.00/share

Well the market gave up what it give on Tues and Wed. This will definitely be a down month for the major index. Today, no trades initiated just watch the market creep slowly down. I guess the market is patiently waiting for the Iraq election, then the FOMC and more company earnings numbers before further movement. Ccmp continues to move slowly up, but do not know why. Why would a company with neg. rev and projected neg. inc. be increasing? I believe the shorts are still covering, but reality will soon set in. Cree, I will dump maybe next week for a lost.

Trade: none
Watch: depends on what happen over the weekend
Current Position:
insp +2.0/share
ccmp -1.25/share
aapl +11/share
cree -11/share
plmo -3.55/share

Down day today. The market probably consolidating a bit from the last two day's runup. Msft had decent earnings today , so maybe an up day. But, who knows the Iraq election is this weekend and Jan. looks like a negative month for the dow and nasdaq.

Trade: sold hott for +1/share
new sold short ccmp
Watch: sndk ( will try a short on this, very high on the price and earnings was ok), mstr(will just watch, had fantastic earnings), maintain a watch on the rest of my positions ( especially ccmp, had negative earnings but continue to go up, will add to my short positions, I believe a few shorts cover thus for the runup)
Current Positions: insp +2.6/share
ccmp -.50/share
aapl +10/share
cree -11/share
plmo -3.55/share

Well forgot to post yesterday, had something else to do. Today the market was spectacular. It rally in the morning and fizzle just a liitle bit near the end. Even though market is up, it didn't seem like everyone was buying like crazy. Did two round trip trades today. Was a bit early to exit my trade on slab, but it hit my loss limit. The other trade was crdn, which was a better trade. My plmo was slaughtered today, because the CEO resign. If it continue to decline tomorrow I will have to take it out. Several earnings will be coming out this week, also everyone is talking about the iraq election and the fomc meeting in Feb. Market is still neutral.

Trades: slab +.16/share crdn +.44/share

Watch: sgtl (came in with great earnings today but believe it will drift down tomorrow, great for a short play). chkp ( still playing with the 24 ish lows)

Current Pos: plmo -7/share
aapl +10/share
hott -.40/share
cree -6/share

Deja Vu again. Wow this market is freakin all the smart money. They are confuse as Confucius. I watched play played itself out, but should have bought it at 20 but was afraid it may go lower. Three straight down week for the mrkt, the market has never done this since the 70's and the early 80's. But sentiment is still neutral, no really hard sell off or buying. Just a slow drift down. Next week msft will announce, we will get closer to the iraq election and the fomc meeting in feb.

Trades: cover my last 100s of mrvl for a lost, sold chkp for a 50c/share gain, bought more plmo for a total cost basis of 29.30 now.
Watch: nothing for monday, will look at my current positions and syna ( announce great earnings , this baby may run, also snda )

Deja vu again. Another repeat of yesterday. I sold my position of macr. Initiated position on chkp ( look good at 24, will bounce when the market moves). Tomorrow is option expiration so it can be volatile.

Trades: sold macr for 4.0/share gain, initiated chkp at 23.90
Watch: syna ( good earnings will try to scalp 50 cents out of it),plmo( this is low since oct. I think it will bounce either tomorrow or mon, it usually does after option expiration definitely mm manipulation), play ( earnings was ok, but it went down after hour, will buy if it goes below 20.5)

Wow what the heck did the market do this afternoon. The engine stalled and it finished hard in the last hour. Ebay disappoint, so better watch out tomorrow. It could be another rough ride. The sentiment seems negative coming into the earning season. I've noticed that companies better beat and guide higher for the stock to go up. Otherwise, the market will eat you up if you just meet expectation and guide flat! Besides the earnings, other factors such as oil and interest fever, this market is getting very nervous.

Trades: sold antp for 1.75/share gain
Watch : chkp (great earnings number, got pulled down by the market at the end 23.3 - 23.5 buy), yhoo (mediocre earnings, the market took it over 35-35.5 buy), snda ( do not know what is going on with this stock , but it is near my buy point of 30). Also will watch macr to see will it touch 28 , that will be my exit.

Didn't make any trades today , just watched the market gyrated up and down after the long holiday. The oil factor is starting to spook the markets again. Watched yahoo in the last 30min. and wanted to place a trade to buy it, but it didn't hit my target of 37.00. After hour was 37.80 after decent earnings, amd was down and ibm was up. It might be a up day for the markets tomorrow except for the chips (amd and rmbs down ah). As for tomorrow, macr earnings comes out , lets see what will happen. Also will mrvl react to amd and rmbs demise. Will watch chkp and yhoo for a quick scalp.

First Month of the New Year

Well I've decided to start this blog as a log for the small fund that I manage. It will list the trades I've made and how I felt about each trade on a day to day basis. This way I can reflect on what I've done and how I can improve my trading skills. Maybe someone out there in blog land can give me some advice. Also, since we're in the digital age, I thought it will be better to have a journal on line so I can access it anywhere and update it regularly. Well I've been trading on my own since May 1, 2004, and my performance has been ok. My fund's performance percentage wise is still above my initial capital. However, I still have a lot to learn. My trading style is mainly 80% technical with 20% fundamental analysis. I'm sort of a discretionary trader without any mechanical trading system. However, I do have a few trading rules/guidelines and a risk management system that I adhere to so I won't blow up.
Well since it is a long holiday coming up (MLK) there is no entry until Tuesday.
